Dr Jo Thompson Retirement Notice

Dr Thompson (Dr Jo to many of you) is hanging up her stethoscope and retiring from Temple Sowerby Medical Practice.

Dr Jo has given our patients 27 years service having joined the Practice on 1st June 1997. During this time Dr Jo has built trust and strong connections with her patients and in may cases has followed 3 generations of patients welcoming the children and grandchildren of many of her first patients

Dr Jo has worked through many changes and challenges faced by the NHS with expert leadership, compassion and care. As many of you will acknowledge Dr Jo has been extremely committed to her work going the extra mile on a daily basis, it is fair to say the light can be seen in her surgery window till far beyond the end of our surgery day.

Our Management Team: Dr Jervis, Paula Breen, Jackie O’Neil and Jaymi Rampersad will guide our patient community through this transitional period which we appreciate may be unsettling, particularly for those patients who have built a relationship with Dr Jo. Our Practice team is committed to ensuring that your healthcare needs are met with the appropriate level of care and attention.

We are very sad to say goodbye to Dr Jo, are privileged have have had 27 years of her dedication to serving our community and we thank Dr Jo for the undeniable impact she has had in caring for our patients.

We would like to invite you to join us in saying goodbye to Dr Jo on her last day at a drinks reception in the Practice on Friday 1st March at 6:30pm where we will be presenting Dr Jo with the many gifts that have been coming in and assure you that we are putting your donations towards something special for her to receive during the evening. You may also like to leave any goodbye wishes in the Retirement Book in main reception.
