Coronavirus – consultation/appointments

The Practice has remained open and is still operating, and the clinical team are still offering telephone consultations in the way the Practice has been doing for some time now.  However we are working at capacity and may not be able to respond to you as quickly as we would ordinarily.

Please continue to follow government and NHS111 guidance, this is reviewed regularly. Our first point of contact for those who would like a consultation and who have access to the INTERNET is our online consulting facility accessed via our website, this will be reviewed and followed up with either a call from the Practice or a telephone consultation by the end of the next working day. Attendance at the Practice for an appointment is by invitation only – we ask ONLY the patient to attend the practice unless you need assistance, all those entering the Practice MUST wear a face covering. For any other queries please contact us via telephone.

Appointments – All patients who contact us for a GP appointment will receive a telephone appointment first. The Doctor will call you to discuss your problems, you may then be invited to be seen face to face, or you may be redirected to alternative services. When attending for a face to face appointment the clinical staff will be wearing PPE, please do not be alarmed this is for the safety of both patients and staff.  The Practice may seem quiet, this is because we are staggering appointments in order to protect you and our staff and to allow a clean down between each appointment.

Prescriptions –please contact the surgery as normal.  When collecting a prescription please ensure you leave 72 hours from the point of ordering and you must wear a face covering whilst in the Practice.

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 in order to protect yourself and others, do not go to a GP, pharmacy or hospital.

APPOINTMENTS AT THE RED HUB BY A GP: During the current COVID-19 outbreak, patients experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, who are unwell and who have been telephone assessed by a GP to need a face-to-face examination will be given an appointment at our local ‘Red Hub’.  Click here www.northcumbriaccg.nhs.uk/redhubs  to find out more about where to go, what it will look and feel like and what to do when you arrive. There is also a short film and animation to explain why it looks different for children.

Thank you
